A Name Borrowed From an Old Country Poem

Idylwylde was established in 1914, making it one of the older communities in this part of the city, though most of what stands today went up during the 1950s development boom that shaped so much of East Edmonton. The neighbourhood actually reached its 100 year mark as part of the City of Edmonton back in 2013. This is a solid fit for buyers who want ravine access and a central East Edmonton location without needing a school directly inside their own community, since strong options exist just next door in Bonnie Doon and Forest Heights. Families comfortable driving or busing a few minutes for schooling, along with buyers drawn to classic postwar character homes, tend to do well here. It's less suited to buyers who specifically want a school within walking distance of home.
